Biographies:

KARAN CHADHA, Senior Managing Director: Karan joined Aladdin Capital in January 2009. Prior to Aladdin Capital, Mr. Chadha was a Senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director at Washington Square Investment Management where he was the Head of Credit Research. He was responsible for overseeing a team that managed over $450 million in various credit products. He was also a member of the firm’s investment management committee and was responsible for listing “Carador” the first CDO equity fund listed on the London Stock Exchange. Before Washington Square, Mr. Chadha worked at Oaktree Capital Management, LLC in Los Angeles where he was a member of the investment management team responsible for investing the Company’s $9.5bn high yield and leveraged investments fund. He was involved in all aspects of the investment process including: sourcing investments, conducting detailed company and industry research, analyzing credit worthiness and performing due diligence. Prior to Oaktree, he worked in the Leveraged Finance Group of J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. in New York  helping structure and syndicate financing solutions for leveraged and management buyouts, spin offs, acquisitions financing and debtor in possession transactions. Mr. Chadha earned a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Franklin and Marshall College, PA and is qualified under the Securities & Investment Institutes Certificated in Investment Management approved by the FSA. He is Indian by birth and fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and English.

STEFAN LINDEMANN, Managing Director; Stefan joined Aladdin from being an Independent Advisor working out of Madrid. The bulk of his career has been in investment banking with over 17 years experience; his last role being Country Head for Dresdner Kleinworts Investment Banking activities in Spain and Portugal. He has experience in M&A, ECM, DCM, Corporate Banking, and structured derivatives; and worked at BNP Paribas, Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank. He has a BSc in Economics and Accountancy from the City University. He speaks five languages: English, German, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
